Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Cassidy Clark is a Master’s Level Clinical Mental Health Counselor, currently under supervision towards full licensure. Working with both adolescents and adults, Cassidy specializes in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma related disorders, self esteem, and LGBTQ+ concerns.
Clinically, Cassidy utilizes a wellness and emotion-focused lens, integrating both Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Family Systems Theory (FST). She approaches the therapeutic relationship with compassion and empathy, journeying alongside her clients towards solutions and relief. As a counselor, Cassidy prioritizes her client’s values and beliefs, always holding space for uncomfortable topics and the hard conversations that we all struggle with.
Originally from Pennsylvania, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at East Stroudsburg University. While at ESU, Cassidy grew her leadership and counseling skills by working as Head Resident Advisor (RA) at several university residence halls.
After falling in love with East Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains, Cassidy moved to Knoxville to pursue her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee. During her time at UT, she served as a counselor for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the FUTURE program. She also completed her internship with the University of Tennessee Athletics Department, working one-on-one with many young and talented athletes.
Outside of her passion for counseling, Cassidy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, watching football and baseball, and playing video games. She’s recently taken up bird (and squirrel) watching with her cat, Bonzai.
Cassidy is currently receiving supervision towards her license as an LPC-MHSP. Her supervisors include Lindsey Kontovich (LPC-MHSP) and Charlie Mitchell (LPC-MHSP, NCC, MS).
